Practice Management

The Practice Management Team is responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice.

The Practice Management team is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The Practice Management team supports the GP’s and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

The practice is supported by a team who are responsible for providing all secretarial and administration duties.

Jenny is the Compliance Officer.

Jane and Louise are our Practice Secretaries.

You may read in the news that practices are being asked to ‘peer review’ all referrals prior to them being sent to a consultant. This means that the referral is checked by another doctor to ensure that it’s both appropriate and going via the correct pathway. You may be concerned that this will cause a delay to your referral. We already check referrals before they are sent so you should not see any difference. However, this is something that is being imposed by NHS England and so we have to comply.


Our Receptionists are available to take your telephone calls or speak to you Monday to Friday and are trained to deal with your needs. They make appointments, take messages (including visit requests) and inform patients of test results where appropriate, when doctors have seen and approved them. Sometimes, for example when you phone for a visit, they may have to ask you for details of a personal nature. Rest assured that any information you give will be dealt with in complete confidence.

We ask our receptionists to signpost you to the most appropriate clinician. This will not necessarily be a GP as other staff here are trained and qualified to deal with a range of complex conditions.

Our dispensers are qualified to prepare your prescriptions and to help with any queries that you may have regarding your medication.

Our Dispensary Manager is Sue, who is supported by Carol, Victoria and Beth.
