Who are we?
The Ongar Health Centre PPG, or Patient Participation Group, is a voluntary organisation that currently consists of six committee members. They are Jenny Juttner, Christine Crump, Liz Barber, Jason Gunn, Dawn Roche and David Jackman. We meet regularly at the surgery and liaise with surgery staff in order to act as a representative and effective PPG.
What do we do?
The PPG is a group of volunteer patients who work together with the surgery to enhance patient experience. This can include being a point of reference for patient opinion when practice decisions are being considered, to support communication between the surgery and patients, and practical help where needed, such as organising drop in sessions for specific patient groups.
Would you like to get involved?
There are three main ways you can get involved with your PPG.
1. Join our virtual PPG to be consulted when practice decisions are being considered.
There are some upcoming decisions which the surgery would like to be able to seek patient opinion on. If you would like to form part of our virtual PPG to be included in upcoming surveys please complete the form below.
2. Volunteer to help at PPG events.
If you can volunteer some time, no matter how little, we would be really grateful for help at PPG events, such as patient drop in sessions. The PPG are currently considering running drop in sessions to help patients better utilise the e-consultation forms, and sessions to help patients use the new health kiosk in the surgery. We also run patient coffee afternoons, reaching out to patient groups who may need additional support and assistance. If this is something you think you could help with we’d love to hear from you! Please email ongarppg@gmail.com
3. Join the PPG Committee.
A small number of patients form the PPG Committee. We hold an AGM annually, if you would like to join the PPG Committee or find out more information please contact us through the surgery or by emailing ongarppg@gmail.com AGM dates will be advertised within the surgery and locally prior to the event.
