If you are on regular treatment, a request for repeat prescriptions can be made by bringing in or sending by post the computer printed counterfoil, or completing the repeat prescription request form obtainable at the surgery. If you wish the prescription to be posted, please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope.
Alternatively you may order online via the link at the top of this page. New users are required to complete a simple registration prior to using this service.
Please do not request repeat prescriptions by telephone.
The practice is able to dispense medication for patients who live more than one mile from the nearest chemist. Medication can be collected from our dispensary following consultation with the doctor.
The Dispensary will be open daily from 08:00 until 18:30.
We will also be closing every Thursday between 14.00 - 16:00 from 1.12.2017
URGENT PRESCRIPTION REQUEST CHANGE
Due to an increase in the amount of URGENT requests for normal repeat medication, and the increased pressure this creates for Clinicians, Prescribing Administrators and our Dispensary team, as of the 1st September 2017 any urgent prescriptions requested will now only be given ONE week’s supply of medication.
ALL ROUTINE PRESCRIPTIONS are processed within two working days from the initial request being submitted, but this does not mean they will have been dispensed within this time. Please allow an additional 24 hours if you are a dispensing patient. Before submitting an URGENT request please ensure that it is, in fact, URGENT as our new policy may cause you additional costs if you are only being given one week’s supply. There will be no exceptions. You will still need to request your routine prescription in the usual manner.
Ongar Health Centre
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
There are a number of items which GPs are no longer allowed to prescribe as these can be bought over the counter (OTC). The link below provides more information
