Practice Manager
The practice manager, Nicola Whitehead, is responsible for the running of the practice and should be able to help with any questions about administration or non-medical aspects of your treatment.
Practice Nurses
Our nurses are available by appointment. They can give advice regarding minor illnesses, injuries, diet and travel immunisations. They perform a full range of nursing procedures including injections, dressings, urine testing and ear syringing. They also offer clinics for the following: contraception, asthma, diabetic, high blood pressure and smoking cessation clinics.
Reception Team
Our receptionists are available to take your telephone calls or speak to you Monday to Friday and are trained to deal with your needs. They make appointments, take messages (including visit requests) and inform patients of test results where appropriate, when doctors have seen and approved them. Sometimes, for example when you phone for a visit, they may have to ask you for details of a personal nature. Rest assured that any information you give will be dealt with in complete confidence.
Secretarial And Administration
The practice is supported by a team who are responsible for providing all secretarial and administration duties.
Dispensary
Our dispensers are qualified to prepare your prescriptions and to help with any enquiries regarding your medication.
Health Visitors And School Nurse
There are health visitors and a school nurse who cover the practice. They have special responsibilities to mothers and children and are based at Bansons Lane. To contact them please telephone 01277 366495.
Community Nurses
The community team of nurses care for patients who need nursing at home, and are based at Bansons Lane. They can usually be contacted on 01277 366513.
Doctors Training In General Practice
Education plays a vital role in the development of improved medical care. We have been a training practice since August 2006 which means that from time to time there may be a qualified doctor, nurse or a student present during your consultation. These experiences really do help to enhance the standard of care that we can deliver - both now and in the future. We will endeavour to let you know that you may have another person present during your visit.
We appreciate your help in this training process by allowing the presence of another person. However, you are not obliged to agree to it and if you do NOT wish the doctor or student to be present you should let the receptionists know. This of course will not affect your consultation at all. Thank you for your help.
